Sabbath Workplace Release Request-2
September 1, 2005
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I am writing this letter on behalf of _______________. ____________ who is a member of the _____________________ SDA Church and observes the Sabbath from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.
The observance of the Sabbath is a foundational tenet of Seventh-day Adventists and its observance, in obedience to the 4th Commandment, necessitates that we refrain from normal work and business related activities during that 24 hour period.
While your employee's religious convictions prevent them from working during Sabbath hours, they are more than willing to complete all required work during non-Sabbath hours.
We would appreciate if you would accommodate their religious convictions and allow them to work at an alternate time period.
If you have any additional questions or concerns or if you wish to discuss this issue further, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Again, thank you for your assistance in upholding your employee’s religious convictions.
